The formation of a new entrance at 225 Bath Street provides both a new reception area and lift lobby for the separately refurbished office development together with a franchised coffee bar.
The design, constructed on the front of a 1970s six storey office building, formerly occupied by the local authority, features a cranked steel roof profile that provides the building's distinctive angled soffit planes. These are visible through the large structural glazed facade that steps to form a covered external entrance area. By night, their interior illumination gives a highly visible focus to the whole development within Glasgow's central business area and distracts attention from the banality of the office block.
The project was completed in 1998.
